Introduction - Umbria. Read before posting.

Thunder’s appearance came as no surprise to most people, or beings for that matter."

History: Native Umbrians are a rare vampiric race residing in complex cathedral-like networks scattered throughout the black sand deserts. Their histories are as mysterious as their cultish practices; even when humans began to populate the planet many centuries ago, the Umbrians didn't do much to stop them, much less care for their presence as another food source.

Umbria was colonized by both humans and Eofyrvians [humanoid aliens] in a pact of allegiance; the planet was chosen to be primarily industrial because it is rich in metallic elements and ores are plentiful. Using Eofyrvian engineering, the industry became primarily weapons-oriented. HOWEVER... there was a bizarre uprising amongst the Eofyrvians, and strange changes took place among the streets of the cities. The populations grew cruel and bitter towards their oppressive capitalist setup.

In the [current setting] Umbria still manufactures and exports weapons, but the system was overthrown and the planet is now run by a few mobs of various strengths. In the larger cities, it's sort of a cesspool for crime, but also something called "manipulation" (basically extreme Eofyrvian body modification that can add strengths, completely change an appearance, merge genetics etc) which causes a lot of tension...

There are rumours circulating that the more powerful manipulates are being detained and possibly executed, as they are viewed as a threat by opposing mobs.

There are further rumours that around the time of the Umbrian uprising, strange forces of a so-called underworld spilled into the streets.

Population: ALL of the aliens! You have a lot of creative potential here, as many species congregate here, there are lots of cross-breeds and manipulates, and possibly demon-blood. The sky is the limit.

Climate: Moderate. Heavy rain in the major cities close to the lakes. The planet is primarily iron/graphite desertland and swampy moors.
